the good news - they took it inside where nearly half the people stayed for the presentations. we left as our lawn chairs were of solid metal construction and the lightening was a little too close for comfort.
i did get out into the crowd and speak with some people - the consensus was that we're all tired of what the new government is trying to do to u.s. - a soaking without the rain, so to speak!
laurie masterson, organizer of the event, did an outstanding job - from what we were able to stay for. laurie SHOULD run for senate next time around - she is pist AND has one great idea we can all adhere to: STOP THE SPENDING!
sheriff's reports had 1,000+ in attendance - but i believe there may have been more as the vehicles in the parking lot were about six deep and 40-50 long with an average of four to eight people in each vehicle - this not to mention those putting on the event, vendors and presenters.

a distance shot as we were approaching the beginning of this TEA PARTY event.

there were several "DON'T TREAD ON ME" flags in attendance with owners attached.

storm closing in all around u.s.

thought i wrote this lady's name down...but cannot find it...i do remember she has worked in state government under several administrations - she read THE LETTER, and it seemed she injected some of her own ideas into it - the crowd roared!

this was the building everyone later gathered in when it began pouring down rain. it was initially being used as a gathering spot for people to GET INFORMED! informed on "cap and trade", get their "pocket constitutions", receive needed information on the the "9/12 project", sign up for info on how to begin a TEA PARTY movement in areas where there have so far been none, and on the massive governmental desires to usher in "national health services" - of which there are already plenty!

as you can see by all the red, white and blue - this was a patriotic bunch!

the storm getting closer...

my family with lightening rod chairs in hand rapidly approaching the parking lot where i was unlocking the vehicle and opening the trunk! although it took some doing to get our two teens to go with us - they were highly disappointed it ended early and anxiously await another TEA PARTY - people, if you do nothing else, take your children to the next one - if for no other reason than to apologize ahead of time for what is coming on this nation if we don't make a stand NOW!
i must make mention that tom ziglar was the keynote speaker and was on stage when the storm hit so we only were able to hear a small portion of his speech - but if he's anything like his dad, zig, the rest was quite an earful.
